Walker Edison, a furniture and décor company, has a strong focus on people and culture. For their quarterly team-building activity, the marketing department teamed up with Pottery with a Purpose for a hybrid pottery workshop where they connected with coworkers near + far (someone called in from Peru!), and learned to create + decorate air dry clay pinch pots.
Pottery with a Purpose (PwaP), teamed up with Laura Ahrens of Laura Ahrens Yoga, for an evening of pottery + yoga practice at the gorgeous Larz Anderson Park. This specialty workshopbegan with pranayama (breathwork) and meditation practice with Laura to get participants' creative juices flowing. After meditation, participants enjoyed a pottery workshop with during which they learned to make a special yoga-related creation to support their practice.
Pottery with a Purpose was superrrexcited to partner with two awesome Boston-based, woman-owned businesses for our first in-person ticketed pottery workshop. Hosted by Uvida Shop in partnership with Girlfriends Boston, attendees enjoyed a Saturday evening of drinks, bites, making new friends and playing with clay to create vases and footed boob planters.
Have you ever heard the old expression, "idle hands are the devil's workshop"? If you're feeling anxious or distressed, shaping, molding + decorating pottery can help you focus your energy as your hands are engaged.
