Early Release Day Pottery Workshops — 2025/2026 Sessions (Needham MA)

Looking for a creative, screen-free after-school activity in Needham, MA? Our Early Release Day Pottery Workshops are a fun, engaging, and hands-on way for kids ages 8–12 to explore real ceramic art in a single-day session.

In this beginner-friendly pottery workshop for kids, young artists will learn hand-building techniques using ceramic clay. Each child will complete one fully glazed and kiln-fired pottery project that is both waterproof and food-safe—perfect to keep or gift!

Location:  Pottery with a Purpose Studio 178 Crescent Rd, Needham, MA. There is easy parking for drop-off and pick-up!

Workshop Details:

  • Ages: 8–12

  • Time: 1:30–4:00pm on select early release days (see dropdown menu for dates)

  • All materials included

Notes: Sessions may not run if there are less than 4 sign-ups. You can choose to be refunded or to transfer to another session.

Pieces will be ready for pick up 3-5 weeks after the workshop ends. We will hold pieces for 30 days to be picked up, after which they will be recycled.

While we take every precaution, pottery is an art form and sometimes pieces can break or crack during drying and firing. Samira Cook is a passionate pottery teacher and artist with over four years of experience teaching art. With a background in early childhood education and a CDA (Child Development Associate) certification, Samira brings both creativity and professional care to her teaching. She is also First Aid and CPR certified, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for every child she works with. Whether guiding toddlers or teens, Samira is dedicated to helping young artists explore, experiment, and grow through the power of clay.
