4-Week Wheel Throwing Series | Needham, MA

• 4 Guided Sessions: Each session includes 2 hours of instruction followed by 30 minutes for studio cleanup. Week 4 includes an underglaze + glazing session to bring your pottery to life with color.
• Instructor feedback every step: Small class, real attention.
• All Supplies: We have the clay, the wheels, aprons and all the supplies you need to create your pottery pieces.
• Kiln Firings: Our team will bisque fire and then glaze fire up to 5 of your pottery pieces in our kiln so they are glossy, durable, waterproof & food-safe. Pieces will be ready for pickup in 6-8 weeks. Love more than 5 pieces? You can purchase additional glazing + firing during the series.
• Beginner-Friendly Vibes: Laid-back, no-pressure energy perfect for first-timers, solo guests, and friend groups alike.

Week 1: Studio Intro + Getting Your Hands Dirty
Tour the studio, watch a full demo, get on the wheel, and learn to center. It's a little messier than you think and a lot more fun than you expect.

Week 2: Wedging, Recycling + Throwing Practice
Learn to prep your own clay, understand how studios recycle materials, and throw your first real cylinder. Some will stand. All will count.

Week 3: Trimming, Carving, Attaching + More Throwing
Trim your Week 2 pieces, add texture and decoration, attach handles, and keep throwing. This is the week your work starts looking like pottery.

Kiln Week (No Class):
We'll take a one-week break while your pottery is bisque fired in the kiln, preparing it for decorating in the final class.

Week 4: Underglaze + Glaze + Final Throw
Spend the session decorating and glazing everything you've made. Have extra time? Jump on the wheel for one last throw. Then, your pieces go into the kiln and will be ready for pickup within 1-3 weeks.
