Note: After this workshop, you can air-dry your pottery. After a few days, your pottery will be ready to paint! Glazing + Firing are required for your pottery to be waterproof and food-safe, but are not provided at this workshop. Use our Kiln & Ceramic Studio Locator to find a local pro who can glaze and fire your creations for you.
We rotate themes so there’s always something new to create. Join us again and again to grow your pottery skills and try new projects!
Here’s what’s on the schedule:
- Build-a-Boob Pot: This event is the tits! Celebrate body positivity and sculpt your own clay boob pot. Don’t be shy, add body hair, wobbly bits, tattoos, piercings, and those perfect imperfections that make you you. An empowering, fun experience perfect for bachelorettes, birthdays, or just because.
- Halloween Edition: Get spooky with seasonal clay creations, think ghost tea light holders, pumpkin pinch pots, and other eerie-sistible designs. Costumes optional. Witchy, playful, and perfectly weird vibes required.
- Holiday Edition: Add a little handmade holiday magic to your season by sculpting functional festive decor or heartfelt gifts from clay. Make ornaments, candle holders, holiday trays, mini trees, or whatever you dream up. Think cozy, joyful, messily creative energy, because the best gifts are always the ones you make yourself.
- Make Your Own Plant Pot: Calling all plant parents: this one’s for you. Sculpt your own custom planter, basic, textured, footed, face-shaped, whatever your vibe. Whether your monstera needs a new home or your cactus wants an upgrade, you'll leave with a pot as unique as your plant baby.
- Sip & Sculpt: Our signature workshop. Unwind with a drink in one hand and clay in the other while you learn the basics of hand-building pottery. Make a planter, ring dish, vase, or whatever your imagination sparks.
P.S. When you see “On the Patio,” it means we’re taking it outside! Soak up golden hour while you sculpt. If the weather is too rainy or blazing hot, we’ll move indoors, still fun, still clay-filled, just with AC.

Customer Reviews
I had a wonderful time at pottery with purpose. They provided us with several tools to make our pottery and it was highly interactive. Left feeling relaxed and refreshed, would definitely sign up again in the future!
Thank you for your kind words! We are thrilled that you had a wonderful time at our pottery workshop. It's great to hear that you found the class to be interactive and left feeling relaxed and refreshed. We would love to have you join us again in the future. See you soon!
A group of gals and I attended this "Sip and Sculpt" night. Billed as a "guided clay workshop," I anticipated step-by-step instruction towards a common project goal or at least some pretty hands-on guidance in a smallish group. Ultimately, the room of 20-30 people received 5-8 minutes of instruction on how to make a basic pinch pot and then the two (extremely lovely, kind, and friendly) leaders walked around and checked in on folks throughout the rest of the session. Our group had a great time and walked away with some cool little pieces that we figured out how to do largely on our own, but the $60 price tag felt very steep for what it was (two small slabs of clay, a set of tools, and a little pot of white (acrylic?) paint, a brochure with pictures of ideas....and a single dollar to a nonprofit).
Also, the address was listed as Schoolyard Beer Garden and Cafe....which is a HUGE space spanning multiple levels and entrances - indoors, outdoors, etc. I wandered for quite a while before I saw one piece of taped up printer paper at one of the entrances stating that the workshop was in an upstairs meeting room that I would never have found on my own. A reminder email was sent out the night before, and I have to think that the room assignment was known at that time and could have been included.
Overall, I think the event description could use a rewrite or some more structure could be provided. If you are looking for a chance to play around with some clay and chat with your friends with little interruption, this would probably be the right event for you. If you're looking for something where you expect to come away with the beginnings of a new skill or technique, this probably isn't the class for you.
Hi there,
We're sorry to hear that our pottery workshop did not meet your expectations. We appreciate your feedback and will take it into consideration for future events. We understand that you were looking for more structured instruction and we apologize if we fell short in that aspect.
We're glad to hear that you and your friends still had a nice time and created some cool pieces. We will definitely work on improving the event description and providing more clear directions to the workshop location.
Thank you for bringing these issues to our attention and we hope to see you again in the future.
